Tribute
Professor Elijah Oladunni Kehinde was a much loved member of the Nigerian community in Kuwait, where he lived and worked for 20 years. He was versatile, compassionate, highly skilled physician and surgeon, erudite scholar and researcher, confidante, brother and friend. We have all been in state of shock and disbelief since we heard the news of his untimely demise along with his wife and 2 daughters. It has been very tough to accept. However we take solace in a life well spent in the service of God and humanity. Dunni (as most of us called him) was so many things to so many people. He was a most reliable friend who was loyal, honest and true. He was there to share your burden and your joy. He gave of his time and other resources so readily and freely. You could depend on him totally. Some of us called him the good Samaritan of Kuwait.
He was such a compassionate doctor, who gave everyone equal attention not minding their financial or social standing. He was the favorite doctor of so many and his patients all miss him so much. He was known as a “doctor of no problem” and gave everyone hope and always with a smile. He was an impactful, resourceful and inspiring scientist who elevated his collaborators and contributed to academic advancement of many of his colleagues. He contributed significantly to the expansion of knowledge base in his field of urology and was an eagerly sought speaker at many local and international conferences.
